Interim Senior Risk Manager - Pension Funds

My client requires an individual to work closely with the Head of Investment Risk to implement and develop a risk framework for pension fund assets.

THE SUCCESSFUL INDIVIDUAL WILL:

- Provide a comprehensive assessment of risks within relevant funds
- Identify risks associated with current and proposed investment strategies and regulatory and accounting issues
- Provide analysis, interpretation and advice to senior management regarding analysis of risk in the pension fund mandates
- Analyse data and work with management in business areas to identify risks and implement & embed risk control and reporting solutions
- Review and challenge existing controls
- Ensure remedial action is taken to ensure strategies and solutions remain relevant and effective
- Raise the awareness of risk and control issues amongst the business to ensure their consideration as part of part of project and business-as-usual activities
- Develop reporting to support the senior management in delivering a first class service to institutional clients
- Manage relationship with 3rd party performance measurement service provider to ensure that performance data are provided as required to support the reporting to requirements
- Monitor performance to ensure accuracy of the figures
- Monitor investment strategies to ensure adherence to agreed processes and constraints
- Implement and maintain monitoring procedures to ensure that funds under management comply with regulations and legal agreements
- Ensure that guidelines in place for pension and institutional mandates are appropriate and are monitored accurately on a regular basis
- Measure, challenge and report on the effectiveness of the implementation of risk strategies and solutions
- Ensure production of regular reports for governance committees
