Real Public Sector are currently partnering with a Large Acute Trust (Foundation Trust) to secure the services of an experienced Programme Director for a period of 12 months.

We have been retained to secure the services of a highly competent and very experienced Programme Director with extensive experience around Surgery Reconfiguration

It is essential that applicants have recent experience (in the last 12 months) of complex major surgery reconfiguration programmes for a large Acute Trust

This is a highly visible and politically sensitive programme for the Trust and therefore the candidates must be of the very highest calibre.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR:

- The development, delivery and preparation for operational transfer of the Surgery Reconfiguration Programme for this NHS Foundation Trust .
- The development and execution of the Surgery Reconfiguration logistics plan
- Ensuring that the quality of the redesigned clinical pathways where is owned by the Clinical leads
- The development and management of the resource plan for Surgery Reconfiguration
- Delivery against budget

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

-Lead the Surgery reconfiguration programme and programme team
- The provision of appropriate professional advice, guidance, skills, experience and expertise on large scale reconfiguration and transformation projects that are required to deliver the programme
- Budget management in partnership with the Executive lead
- Development and approval by the Trust Board of the final business case

The INTERIM PROGRAMME DIRECTOR will provide expert advice and support to clinicians and senior managers in the Trust, Divisions and Directorates in order to deliver the wider programme on time and within budget.

In particular, she/ he will be responsible for the delivery, monitoring and assurance of high quality programme development and delivery against an agreed set of local and national key performance indicators ensuring that there is consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Accredited Programme Management (MSP/Prince2).
- First Degree
- Relevant management qualification and evidence of continuing professional development or relevant experience.
- Evidence of developing new teams and services with appropriate infrastructures.
- Track record of delivery
- Evidence of leadership development
- Evidence of working with service users.
- Experience of operational management with clear evidence of delivering tangible outcomes and against key organisational and national targets.
- Experience of successfully leading organisational change and promoting continuous and performance management.
- Evidence of leadership ability, team building and preparing complex information and reports for Boards, Committee and Management Groups.
- Awareness, knowledge and understanding of the NHS and local modernisation agenda.
- Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and associated control mechanisms.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the values and ethos of the NHS
