Interim Payroll Manager - Growing & Exciting Retailer

A part of your role will be to upskill and share your knowledge with the team to create efficiencies and the foundations to build a successful payroll department.
You will be reporting to the head of HR in a culture that is open, friendly and hardworking who are not afraid to share ideas.
The role is for an initial 3 month period and will require someone with solid payroll management experience for a minimum employee base of 5,000. SAP knowledge and experience is also essential.
Key deliverables include:
- Ensure all staff are paid accurately and on time. Resolve all queries promptly.
- Ensure all deductions from gross pay are calculated accurately and paid over promptly (NI, PAYE, pensions etc)
- Create postings from payroll to nominal ledger. Take responsibility for all relevant control accounts in the nominal ledger and ensure reconciliations are completed monthly.
- Support operational management in controlling staff costs through reporting and analysis of payroll costs.
- Produce accurate and efficient management information.
- Monitor stores compliance with operating procedures (eg pay advances, notification of starters/leavers etc) and drive improvements in standards where necessary.
- Keep up to date with developments in payroll legislation. Produce all required statutory documentation accurately and on time (P60s, P11Ds etc)
