Interim Parking Manager (Op's/Projects) - Local Government

Background to assignment:

Practicus is working with a Local Authority in the North of England to identify an experienced Parking Manager to provide key operational and project management support for a 6 month period.

The council is undergoing significant budget rationalisation and as part of their agenda, they are looking at a number of innovative ways to income generate and become more self-sufficient. A review of their parking services has identified a number of areas that can generate additional revenue and due to internal movement within the council, they are looking for an Interim Parking Manager with project management experience that can come in, hit the ground running, manage a team of CEO's and lead on a number of project work streams that feed into their self-sufficiency targets.

Work streams include a full review of their parking tariffs, re-configuration of car parks to increase capacity, the procurement and roll out of up to date Pay and Display systems, a review of their parking permits and the outsourcing of their cash collection.

The Council is very highly regarded in terms of public opinion, it is therefore vitally important that as well as having the Council's financial self-sufficiency targets as the driving force behind the projects, the level of service that the community have come to expect must be maintained so public satisfaction and customer service is of the upmost importance.

Skills & Experience Required

.2 to 5 years of Parking Management and Parking Operations experience within a Local Authority (private sector experience may be considered).
.A successful track record of project delivery around the above work streams.
.Experience of tendering and procurement (best value for money).
.Budget management, forecasting and report writing ability.
.The ability to use evidence, data and market trends to support your work.

Successful Project Management experience is key and although a Prince2 qualification is not essential it would be an advantage.
