Interim Operational Director - Early Help & Education, London

INTERIM OPERATIONAL DIRECTOR - EARLY HELP & EDUCATION, LONDON

My local authority client is currently looking for an interim Operational Director of Early Help & Education, supporting the Strategic Director in securing the continuous development, improvement, efficiency and success of the department.

The role will be to lead a portfolio of services in alignment with corporate and departmental aims and priorities, including:

- Development and delivery of innovative new models for commissioning and service delivery.
- Setting and monitoring clear and ambitious performance requirements.
- Robust financial management to ensure value for money.
- Creating an environment which fosters innovation and continuous improvement in service commissioning and delivery.

Responsibilities would involve ensuring the effective delivery of all operational education services, including services to schools, pupil and parent services, integrated services for special educational needs, alternative education service and youth support services.

In order to be considered for this role, you must have a track record of achievement at a senior leadership level in a large scale, highly diverse customer centric, political organisation including:

- A proven track record of achieving and managing cultural and organisational change and of leading improvement within and across education and schools
- Experience of partnership and multi-agency working to improve schools, pupil referral units and outcomes for children and young people
- A track record of innovative and different delivery mechanisms
- A record of innovative achievements in joint working with partners and stakeholders.
