My Client, an NHS organisation based in London, requires an interim Education and Workforce Development Officer for a period of 3-12 months, remunerated on an applicable day rate.

The Education and Training Academy is an exciting new department set up to manage education and training for staff in General Practice. As Small to Medium Enterprises GP surgeries and their staff struggle to find time to access educational opportunities which makes planning educational activities for them a rewarding challenge the academy team will rise to.

The Academy acts as a provider to the locality GPs supporting them to identify and access education and training that enables them to deliver the highest quality health care to a complex and unique population.

You will help the Clinical Lead for the academy and the academy manager commission, plan, communicate and evaluate exciting interventions that develop the workforce in the direction of the key milestones set out in the Primary Care Education and Workforce Development Strategy and led by the Primary Care Development Strategy. You will support practices to identify their own learning needs, sign post them to how they can meet their needs and support the academy manager to collate learning needs analysis surveys into workforce development and education plans.

Specific requirements of the role, not already covered by the generic job description.

* Work independently with education providers and trainers to co-ordinate training.

* Maintain the education and training scheduler within the CCG to prevent clashes in event planning, planning 6-12 months ahead with the Academy Manager

* Market and communicate education and training interventions making use of the network of Primary Care Support facilitators available as well as a wide variety of media, ensuring the communication is appropriately targeted.

* Support the Academy manager to have a Academy team representative at cluster meetings and educational forums etc

* Support collection of feedback from practices and learners on educational activities they've attended and interventions they would like to see.

* Promote Academy's strategies, policies, processes and workforce development recommendations to practices in communication with them.

* Support practices to identify their learning needs, sign posting them to how they can meet their learning needs.

* Contribute to the Academy committee with simple reports eg on take up of training activities.

* Work closely with cluster facilitators and other Primary Care support staff to develop the learning environment.

* Act as a facilitator at large multi-professional/disciplinary training events

* Contribute to the development of robust day to day Academy office management systems and processes including participating in or project managing the procurement of the Learning Management System

* Contribute to workforce development planning and to the Workforce Development and Education Strategy for Primary Care.
