Projektbeschreibung

*To ensure the Council achieves its objectives lawfully, that Council decision-making is sound and that the Council's Constitution and ethical and governance frameworks provide a sound and robust basis for its operations.

*To ensure the development and implementation of high quality corporate, strategic and governance functions to support strategic aims and core values.

*To drive forward change in Council in line with the Council's strategic priorities so that a culture of continuous and ambitious improvement is Embedded.

*To represent the Council and the Directorate internally and externally managing relationships with key stakeholders and interest groups.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

*Roles and responsibilities commensurate with a Monitoring Officer role.

CORPORATE LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

*To act as the Council's Monitoring Officer as defined under Key Result Areas.

*To ensure the proper and effective running of the Council's decision-making process in accordance with the Council's Constitution, legislation and other requirements.

*To contribute to corporate and borough wide working by leading multi-disciplinary teams to work across functional and professional boundaries and encourage the concept of both internal and external partnership working.

*To ensure that legal, probity and governance requirements are complied with, including the Council's Standing Orders and Financial Regulations and to advise the Head of Paid Service, Mayor and Elected Members and Committees as appropriate.

*To ensure promotion of equal opportunities and the Council's core values and the Council's objective of a 'Workforce to Reflect the Community' with external providers and within the Borough and where possible eradicate all forms of discrimination.

*As directed by the Head of Paid Service, Mayor or Council where appropriate to undertake such reasonable additional duties and responsibilities that may arise from time to time.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

*To oversee the Council's relationship with the Ombudsman.

*Ensure that the Council's Governance, probity and standards arrangements represent best practice and support the organisation appropriately.

*To uphold the highest standards of honesty, probity and integrity on the part of the Council, its members and officers. To ensure that members and officers receive suitable training to allow them to act with honesty, probity and integrity.

*To oversee the work of other officers relating to Freedom of Information, Data Protection, and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers legislation. ensure the other Statutory Officers (Head of Paid Service and the Section 151 Officer) are kept up to date with relevant information regarding any legal, ethical standards, probity, propriety, procedural or other constitutional issues that are likely to arise or have arisen.
