Our Central Government client is seeking an experienced, talented and enthusiastic Interim Head of Programme Management Office to control and monitor the delivery of strategic projects, maintaining standards and supporting Programme and Project Managers across the business. You will be mainly responsible for ensuring that the PMO standards are applied and projects are delivered in line with the requirements and OGC.

Other key responsibilities:

* Managing Programme Management Office standards, providing direction and guidance to Programme and Project Managers to ensure adherence.
* Managing effective Programme and Project reporting and briefing( Regularly to CEO and Board level)
* Presenting a two-weekly Programme dashboard to Programme Sub Committee, highlighting areas for interest, concern etc
* Managing relationship with separately managed Implementation team to ensure plans are consistent and Project work in collaboration to identify and deliver appropriate implementation activities
* Managing Directorate communications, ensuring key messages and guidance is distributed.
* Identifying and managing PPM training across the charge programme securing appropriate training budget.
* Managing Programme and Project risks and issues, ensuring they are identified and recorded
* Managing dependency Mapping, ensuring dependency logs are maintained and manage the relationship with the Delivery Programme to ensure cross dependencies are identified.

To apply for this role you must:

* Have a proven track record of leading and managing PMO with key areas of expertise within reporting, risk and issues management, change control, quality assurance, document configuration, planning and budget control.
* Be a strong leader with credibility and authority to work with and influence people at different levels
* Have an excellent planning ability including identification of internal and external dependencies in major change projects.
* Experience of working for public sector, ideally central government organizations
* A Programmes practioner qualifications or equivalent (e.g. PRINCE2, P3O or ISEB Certificate in Project Management) is essential
Experience of preparing documentation and processes for project reviews including Internal/External Audit and OGC gateways is highly desirable.
