Our Client and NHS Trust in London are currently recruiting for a Interim Head of Governance & Risk.
The post holder will ensure that, in liaison with the Business Manager, there is a robust governance framework to support the corporate activities of the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

This will include supporting and advising the Business Manager to ensure maintenance of the Board Assurance Framework(s) to ensure full compliance with internal and external governance and best practice requirements and that these are live documents which inform prioritisation and decision making.

The post will have a specific focus on Risk Management, Information Governance (in liaison with the Head of Performance and Informatics, and the Board Secretariat (in liaison with the Business Manager).

Main Duties:

- To ensure the Clinical Commissioning Group and its Committees, in liaison with the Business Manager, are properly constituted, operated and supported, according to Standing Orders and the relevant legal and statutory framework and supported by an appropriate secretariat. That there is a suitable knowledge management system within the Cluster to evidence decisions made for the full range of regulations in place.
- To ensure consistent engagement of all functions within CCG in developing appropriate systems and processes that ensure statutory compliance.
- To keep abreast of changes to systems across the whole organisation and ensuring ongoing high level engagement in managing risk across the organisation.
- To ensure that Incident reporting and management systems are in place and being appropriately monitored across CCG concerning incidents arising from decisions made within the organisation and by providers commissioned by CCG
- Responsibility for ensuring a risk management strategy is in place for CCG, providing assurances to the Governing Body that CCG is discharging its statutory and regulatory responsibilities. This includes Audit assurance processes, Health and Safety policies, processes and procedures are in place and that standards are being met
- Provide performance reports to the Governing Body, as appropriate to ensure standards are in place and are being met, and where there are concerns, that actions are in place to Remedy poor practice in relation to all risk matters.
- To ensure that Business continuity plans are in place across CCG in partnership with the local public sector and other NHS bodies in the sector/across London and ensure that commissioned services/provider bodies are fulfilling their responsibilities appropriately
- To lead on the development of a Corporate Risk Management Strategy and systematic risk management assessment processes for clinical and non-clinical risks in commissioned services.
- Ensure appropriate systems are in place for the reporting, management and investigation of incidents.
- To support the Head of Performance and Information, on the development and implementation of an Information Governance Strategy, covering Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Records Management Governance and Information Management. Ensure all associated policies comply with statutory and legal requirements.
- To maintain links with national and regional organisations that play a role in governance and risk and to ensure that best practice is disseminated within the sector and local borough organisations, so that they are able to anticipate and prepare for any future assurance requirements
