MY LONDON BASED CLIENT ARE LOOKING FOR AN INTERIM HEAD OF COMPLIANCE.

THIS IS A 6 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION PAYING £600P/D.

THE ROLE:

From the 1st April 2014, consumer finance companies started to be regulated by the FCA. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and practical Head of Compliance to establish a compliance function and promote an excellent compliance culture throughout the business to maintain our regulatory status, enhance our reputation and provide competitive advantage. The Head of Compliance will report to the CFO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Advise the Board of Directors of risk and compliance issues and provide clear, timely guidance on the impact of new regulations and process changes
- To review and provide regulatory sign off of all promotions and marketing collateral against regulatory Financial Promotions rules
- Keep up to date with all regulation changes and assess the impact of key regulatory changes coming from the FCA, FOS, ICO and the impact the changes will have on the business
- Enhancing and maintaining the company's compliance framework and manual by ensuring processes are fair, controlled and compliant
- Promote a culture of proactive compliance in line with business strategies and objectives
- Manage the company's relationship with the FCA and other regulators, submitting returns, facilitating visits and dealing with requests for information
- Manage compliance information requests and audits
- Ensure systematic reviews take place to include conducting gap analysis, identifying areas of improvement and implementing remedial solutions
- Build relationships with Directors across the business to understand issues and areas for improvement
- Implement a monitoring plan and quality control on an ongoing basis by reviewing and improving the plans as they are developed
- Create and maintain procedure manuals and policies
- Ensuring TCF is considered in marketing activities and product development, acting as a TCF champion within the team
- Deliver briefings and training (induction and refresher) to the whole business on current and emerging regulatory issues
- Manage the external complaints procedure

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL LIKELY HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- A strong degree (2:1 minimum) from a top tier university.
- Excellent knowledge of FCA, Compliance and Financial Promotions regulations and requirements
- Knowledge of data protection regulations
- Experience of reviewing and approving customer facing material from a financial promotions compliance perspective
- Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures and processes
- A problem solving attitude looking at what can be practically done not just what can't be done.
- An approach which is methodical, organised with excellent attention to detail
- An understanding of the business and the ability to take a commercial/informed risk-based approach to compliance
