Interim Financial Analyst

Our Local Authority client is seeking an immediately available qualified accountant to support the key transformation saving projects, effectively support the implementation of the project and providing additional capacity in the financial services resource pool with the following key accountabilities:

* Promote a culture which empowers budget holders and supports the delivery of value for money services, including reporting on benchmark information and key cost drivers.
* Assess current accounting functionalities as allocated and identify areas for improvements.
* Undertake financial impact assessments relating to changes in or new legislative and service initiatives.
* To review proposals and ensure they are appropriately scoped to meet internal / external policies and procedures & audit requirements.
* Co-ordinate the development of financial options appraisals for directorate services ensuring they reflect the directorate's strategic objectives.
* Support the timely preparation of robust business cases from a financial perspective, identifying and quantifying associated costs, benefits, risks and funding solutions.

Appropriate applications will have a financial accountant qualification, and be highly motivated with the ability demonstrate understanding of the elements of Financial Analyst within the context of a large and complex Local Authority environment.
