Interim Financial Accountant

Our Public Sector client is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant for a period of 6 months. You will be responsible for the management of the finance, procurement and governance of the organisation.

The role will involve:

- Ensuring all decision makers within the organisation have all the financial analysis and advice they require
- Ensure that all the governance, risk and audit systems are robust and fit for purpose
- Ensure all the financial accounts for the organisation are accurate and timely
- Have responsibility for providing the Board, Auditors and HM Treasury financial information
- Oversee all financial aspects of the organisation including management accounts, financial accounts and the commissioning of auditors
- Oversee all the procurement processes, ensuring they are compliant with government legislation and deliver value for money.

To be considered for this opportunity you must:

- Be CCAB (or CIMA) qualified or equivalent
- Have a proven track record of working at a senior management level within the Public Sector, ideally within Central Government
- Have experience of UK Central Government accounting framework
- Evidence of providing senior managers with financial advice within the Public Sector.
- Experience of procurement processes and ensuring value for money is highly desirable
