INTERIM FINANCE DIRECTOR - CCAB, CIMA, PUBLIC SECTOR, PUBLIC SERVICE FINANCE

Role

- Overall responsibilities for accounting procedures and payroll, contributing fully to the development of departmental strategy across all areas, challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans and targets.
- Preparation of financial reports and briefings, such as tax returns, balance statements, and any legislative requirements.
- Research, preparation and submission of budgets; ensure that all financial matters are in accordance with legislation and ethical accounting practices.
- Preparation and implementation of tender documents and purchasing practices, potentially, responsibility for insurance licensing, contracts, supplier relationships etc.
- Provide direction and leadership to the department.

Key Skills

- Proven experience in a similar Interim FD role.
- Significant post qualification experience at senior management level.
- Prior experience and understanding of the public sector and an understanding of public service finance and its regulatory environment.
- Understanding of government and NDBP accounting, audit protocols and accounting standards.
- Proven track record of strong and effective leadership with experience in delivering corporate service functions and/or organisational development.
- Qualified accountant - CCAB membership or equivalent recognised accountancy body eg. CIMA.
