BBJ360335 A successful, national company who constructs and operates facilities in the utilities and energy from waste sectors.
As the Engineering Project Manager you will be working in a core operations team with responsibility for producing and maintaining a detailed project plan that ensures the timely and cost effective delivery of the refurbishment of a processing plant.
You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with health and safety, environmental and contractual requirements and also that all procedures are aligned to CDM 2007. You will also be instrumental in the production of design and construction risk assessments as the main contractor.

There are two core aims to this role:

Firstly - to develop and manage an effective design, procurement and build programmes ensuring costs, compliance and timescales are met.

Secondly - successfully managing the build on site, via subcontractors and good supplier relationships, planning and coordinating all resources (plant, equipment and people) meeting the programme and key time bound objectives. The role is for ten months, five months design and five months build. You will be managing a Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Design Draughtsman and a Document Controller alongside various pre-approved subcontractors.
It is essential that the suitable candidate has previous experience of constructing/refurbishing complex projects preferably M&E or Civils from inception to completion for either a Utilities company or a Blue Chip type organisation where there are high expectations. The role requires an engineering project manager who has extensive experience working as the main contractor with a BEng/BTEC/HND Civil, Mechanic/Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate brings solutions to problems - is pragmatic and able to manage a project, delivering on time and within budget.

A project manager who has proven experience in procuring resources and ensuring all deliverables within the project are covered. This role would suit someone methodical and who has had previous responsibility for project documentation and produced the project Health and Safety file for hand over to the client.

The suitable candidate will have efficient and effective contract administration skills resulting in swift, on time, full payments from the client. Ultimately the selected candidate will have excellent project management skills at the pre-build stage, can then transfer those skills to manage effectively on site during the build as required and throughout the processes procure efficiently and manage health and safety. There is a chance that this role will become permanent.
