Interim Contract Management Advisor; London; 4 Month; £450/day

My client, a leading Public Sector organisation is seeking to recruit an Interim Contract Management Advisor to join their team onsite in London. As an Interim Contract Management Advisor, you will be responsible for leading on the development of a range of operational contract management processes and support tools. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience of staff capability development principles as well as being skilled in reviewing information with consistency and coherence.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
*Contribute to and/or lead on the development and implementation of a range of operational contract management processes and support tools (including - for example - contract management handbooks, risk management and risk and issue registers, contract planning and reporting), liaising between operational contract managers commercial and corporate services to ensure contract management tools are understood and used in the manner for which they were developed and in accordance with the government guidance.
*Contribute to the development and implementation of the new Contract Management Support Unit's centralised business owner function, working closely with the civil servant accountable for leading this work, to identify the in scope contracts and plan and execute transfer of ownership.
*Be responsible for supporting and coaching members of operational contract management teams in effective application of processes and tools.
*Be responsible for providing quality assurance of the outputs of the operational contract management teams, including constructive challenge on the content of contract management plans and handbooks, risk registers etc.
*Responsible for taking action to address/escalate where there is material concerns.
*Be responsible for supporting the development of operational contract management capability with my client's Commercial and HR department, including by providing workplace coaching/workshops etc for staff, to facilitate operational contract management teams' understanding of contract management processes and tools.
*Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partners in the above.

Key Knowledge and Skills
*Strong understanding and experience of the challenges involved in contract management of commercial contracts
*Skilled in reviewing information and identifying issues with consistency and coherence, in line with an organisation's strategy and standards
*Experience of staff capability development principles and practice, for example; in an organisational development or similar role
*Strong understanding of programme and project management principles and techniques, especially management of risk and project planning
*Strong user of relevant specialist MS tools (eg MS Project, Excel for risk registers).

Desirable:
*Relevant commercial/procurement qualification(s).
*Understanding and experience in the criminal justice system, especially prisons or probation.
