Interim Commercial Manager

Our local authority client is looking to support its ongoing transformation programme with a dedicated role with a specific focus on current commercial activity and the development of new innovative commercial propositions, to support the wider plans for addressing the councils funding deficit. The role of Interim Commercial Director will be central to optimising the rich and varied resources of the Council's extensive portfolio of services and assets and to unlock the potential for additional revenue generation. As a central, collaborative figure in the senior management team, the Commercial Director will lead both the optimisation of existing activity and also the conception and realisation of new commercial initiatives, developing important new income streams and playing a key role in enabling the further development of the council's resources. Key areas of focus for the role will be analysis and development of existing revenue streams, exploration of current non-revenue generating services, development of new services, and exploration of existing contracts and supplier agreements. This is a unique opportunity to not only play a central role in the development of new commercial activity within the Council, but also build a lasting legacy of enhanced Council services for both current and citizens for generations to come. The right person will be high commercially astute with a great deal of personal gravitas, and will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of launching new product/services across Public and Private Sector clients.
