RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficient and cost-effective planning of the network in line with market and service requirements
- Development of technology strategy and technical business plans
- Effective management of the operations and maintenance of the company's networks, ensuring that network and service quality and availability is maintained to appropriate international benchmark standards
- Equipment vendor negotiations and relationships
REQUIREMENTS:
- Sound knowledge of the telecommunications industry and developing technology trends
- 10 years senior technical management experience within mobile operating companies in challenging environments, including at least 4 years at CTO/Technical Director level
- 5 years technical program/project management experience within mobile operating companies
- Excellent command of English (written & spoken)
- Experienced in development of operational processes & procedures
- Experienced in recruitment, training and motivation of professional staff
IDEALLY:
- Senior role within the launch team of at least one new mobile operator
- Experience working in challenging environments in the MENA region (eg Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya etc)
START DATE: End of 2012/Beginning of 2013
TERM: Assignment duration will be 6 months (25 weeks) with the possibility to be extended or to become permanent
LOCATION: Kabul, Afghanistan
PACKAGE:
- 800 USD per day, 6-day work week (approx 120,000 USD)
- Accommodation
- Transport/Flights, consular VISA costs
- Local transport, car, communications
- Per diem of 50$/day for food
