Southend Borough Council is looking to recruit an experienced ICT/Professional Services Category Manager, to work within the Corporate Procurement Unit.
Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, the Category Manager will be responsible for supporting the development of Category and sub-category strategies.

Key responsibilities include leading on high value & high risk procurement projects, identifying new and innovative approaches to the ongoing management of their category and successfully delivering identified cost saving opportunities, within their specialist category area.

The successful candidate must have an in-depth understanding and market knowledge of ICT and/or Professional Services, demonstrable experience in public sector procurement & knowledge of EU Procurement Law.
