My Client in London is looking for an Accommodation Project Manager for an immediate start for a 3 month placement at a rate of £226.86 per day, although based in London travel will be required.

The ideal individual would have experience of managing projects involving the relocation of staff in the public sector. So, in addition to an understanding of the OGC Gateway Process, Treasury "Green Book" and experience of preparing Treasury compliant five-case business cases, an individual should be an excellent communicator and have experience of dealing with the sensitivities involved in relocating staff. Also, it would be desirable (but not essential if the other stated requirements are satisfied) if an individual had PRINCE 2 qualifications and/or experience of using PRINCE 2.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE

1.Develop, influence and gain approval for project plans, from the Estates Project Office Manager or Project Board to meet customer expectations. Ensuring that accommodation solutions are in line with the Organisations Business Strategy, Estates Strategy and Facilities Management Strategy.

2.Deliver the accommodation projects to agreed timetable, cost and quality standards, undertaking the necessary tasks to achieve these, including the following:
Liaison with local staff to agree floor layouts and design of space;
Discussion with suppliers (furniture, IT etc) to fulfil design criteria;
Developing specifications/scope of works;
Selection of contractors;
Instruction of and monitoring of contractors on site;
Liaison with Procurement Department and IT Department;
Production and agreement of snagging lists, and;
Verification of invoices and agreeing final accounts.

3.Resolve any project issues, recommending solutions to the Estates Project Office Manager or Project Board as necessary to keep the project on track.

4.Responsible for the selection of the most appropriate procurement path (Consultants Minor Works Framework and/or NHS P21 Procurement) that will offer the Organisation the best solution in terms of value for money, good quality product, project certainty.

ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE CRITERIA

- The postholder should be a graduate with a cognate degree.
- Member of the RICS or Project Management professional body.
- An awareness of Central Govt and/or the organisation of the NHS and Department of Health.
- The postholder must have wide experience of interacting with corporate functions, especially contractual matters, procurement and all associated legal matters. - Detailed knowledge and use of all construction contracts -this will include application of appropriate contract documents
