Interest Rate Derivative Operations Manager
Cardiff
£350 per day

Our client, a large banking firm, requires an Interest Rate Derivative Operations Manager to join the firm ASAP.

The Interest Rate Derivative Operations Manager will responsible as follows:

*To lead and direct the work of a Back Office processing group, utilising available processing resources in order to deliver a quality service to customers in line with agreed service standards, with accountability for medium to longer term development.
*Carry out a range of clerical duties, ensuring that the work is completed accurately and adheres to all specified Bank processes, procedures, standards.
*Build effective internal relationships, working to achieve a culture of high quality service delivery
*When required, support line management with the implementation of changes in own work area
*Over time act as a source of expertise to less experienced team members providing coaching support where necessary
*Able to manage stakeholders across all levels
*Meets or exceed the expectations of internal Bank business partner (and through them, the Bank's customer) through the quality of work delivered by the team.
*Achieves operational business goals by establishing priorities and actions and checking progress against these plans, taking corrective action as required.
*Collects and collates necessary facts, figures and opinions, using a range of sources and adds value by identifying patterns, trends and relationships in the data.
*Selects the best course of action based on the available information and accepts personal responsibility for the outcome
*Improves personal effectiveness in response to change at work by identifying new learning and self development opportunities that arise from the change and working towards them
*Introduces changes to structures, processes, products and services effectively and efficiently by focusing effort and commitment on making the change work

To be considered for this role, candidates will need to have the skills and qualities:

*Strong performance orientation - constant reference to performance targets and removal of obstacles.
*Acute sense of processing schedule and efficient use of time as a resource
*Highly effective in people management and control - readily articulates the vision of where the business is heading and why.
*Sensitive to all operational efficiency improvement opportunities including productivity
*Acute awareness of processing standards and the need to minimise errors
*Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
*Strong oral and written communication skills
*Strong organisational and planning skills
*In-depth interest rate derivative knowledge
*Thorough and recent knowledge of operational processes
*Previous management experience within a banking environment
