Interchange Analyst with SQL

Purpose of Role

To provide control, analysis and management information for the interchange within the small team responsible for transaction economics.

To provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to WorldPay leadership to understand key cost drivers.

To own, maintain and develop the cost calculation models and work within a cross functional team to identify and understand the impact of cost saving opportunities through interchange optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify interchange changes and work within a cross functional team to identify and understand their impact
- To ensure information library is documented and complete
- To liaise internally and externally to ensure complete documentation and information for decision making
- To manage individual investigations and ensure full traceability and documentation at completion.

Skills and experience

- Good understanding of the payments industry from a technical and commercial standpoint with emphasis on interchange. An understanding of scheme fees would also be valuable.
- Degree knowledge of Statistics, Operational Research or other mathematical techniques or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in SQL and advanced Excel for data analysis and modelling
- Experience of working with very large volumes of data
- Understanding of key business profitability drivers preferably within the card payments/merchant acquiring sector
- Ability to communicate complex financial and technical information in a confident clear and professional manner to senior management
- Demonstrated experience working to deadlines with multiple priorities and drivers
- Project management experience desirable
