Intellectual Property Paralegal Job

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PARALEGAL needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in San Ramon, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:
- File copyright registrations to secure copyright protection for software being developed at the Global Software Center
- Help to manage and monitor patent filing
- Review selected software licenses (with attorney oversight) prior to use of open source software in a corporate environment, including review for suitability of such open-source-licensed for development of products and inclusion in products
- Prepare (with attorney oversight) and managing receipt of appropriate nondisclosure agreements with potential vendors and partners
- Establish appropriate protection for software development and other proprietary information via non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements
- Assist in negotiating such agreements with attorney oversight
- Review data movement reports to identify possible leakage of proprietary information
- Complete copyright filings with attorney oversight

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Social Science or Political Science or a related field
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Paralegal
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Paralegal in the IP group of a corporate environment
- Must be willing to travel

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal Certificate
- Experience with MS Office
- Good organizational skills
- Familiarity with software licensing, especially the use of open source licenses
- Knowledge of the software development cycle
- Knowledge of intellectual property protections
- Ability to effectively communicate and manage responsibilities with clients who are remotely located
