INSURANCE UNDERWRITER - 12 MONTH CONTRACT - YORK - £18-22K

A corporate player within the Financial Services market is looking to recruit a temporary Insurance Underwriter on a 12 month contract. They offer an honest and supportive working environment with an attractive package, including £18,000 to £22,000 basic salary, 25 days holiday and bonus up to 20%. The successful candidate will have the pleasure of working within a large underwriting department which is an exciting and fast-paced office in the heart of York, which offers its employees a professional workplace with traditional values.

The role will see you working within the commercial and personal lines underwriting team, where you will be required

*Manage a case load of submissions, renewals and new business cases.
*Deal with any queries; providing a high class service and efficient resolution to underwriting and relating issues.
*Process new policies and amend any existing policies.
*Work alongside a network of agencies.

The position does require previous underwriting experience as you will be covering general insurance products, so a commercial or motor underwriting background would be desirable. However general underwriting experience in any field will be considered.

The ideal candidate will have previous underwriting experience working within either general insurance, motor or commercial sectors, as well as demonstrable written and verbal communication skills.
Preferably, the candidate will have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and English. If you are confident that you meet the specifications of this role please do not hesitate to get in touch.
