Instrumentation Engineer-12 Month Contract-Birm

We are currently working with a company in Birmingham that are looking for a EC&I Design Engineer for a 12 month contract. The specification is below: E&I aspects of engineering projects at chemical manufacturing site from concept to final hand-over. Projects up to £1 million, including capability to work on multiple projects of approximately 75k to 100k simultaneously. Co-ordination of Electrical and Instrumentation design including PLC & DCS systems. Specification of Electrical and Instrument equipment. Design of instrument and electrical loops. Carry out cost reviews, spend forecasting and estimating. Working in line with project specifications. Responsible for installation management. Regulatory compliance - ensuring work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards and procedures such as CDM, IEC 61508, ATEX and Pressure Systems Regulations. Responsible for the commissioning of plant and equipment. Carry out all relevant Electrical & Instrumentation documentation. Provide technical support for troubleshooting of problems at running plants, commissioning and construction activities. To also support with any training requirements. The Chemical process site uses a number of small PLC control packages ranging from Mistibushi to SATTControl. The DCS systems are predominantly ABB System 6 but these are generally under the control of the Process Control Engineers. The EC&I Engineer will need to know the philosphy of a control system and how to interface with them. Our client are looking for a flexible minded team player with good technical (theoretical & practical) knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems. A working knowledge of regulatory requirements will be required. COMAH and ATEX are desirable but not prerequisites. The 12 month contract is paying between £34-40/hour depending on experience.
