Instrumentation Engineer

Degreed Electrical Engineer / I reading and checking loops; elementary diagrams; networking (Ethernet; FieldBus; DeviceNet; etc.) and a working understanding of low voltage and power distribution. Experience specifying Emerson DeltaV and PROVOX system hardware is needed. Looking for candidates local to the Houston; TX area; no mobilization; no per diem provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for instrument and electrical discipline cost control on assigned projects. Provide project management and support on an as needed basis
- Provide engineering for projects with conformance of approved design, environmental, and safety standards in chemical plant environment.
- Communicate verbally and in writing, and to work effectively with others.

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years of I&E experience working on-site in petrochemical / refinery / power plant
- BSEE from an ABET accredited university required
- Experience specifying instrumentation and control valves for chemical processes including familiarity with Emerson Delta V and Provox systems
- Working understanding of analytical, flow, level, pressure, temperature, and weigh system instruments
- Working understanding of NFPA70 - National Electric Code and in particular electrical area classifications
- TWIC card or ability to acquire
- Strong ability to read and understand P&ID's
