Installer/Desktop Rollout Engineer

My client is currently seeking x 2 Installer/Desktop Rollout Engineer's to join their team for a short term contract starting in the New Year!

The Government organisation is about to commence an IT equipment replacement & software upgrade project, the overall aim of the project is to upgrade the organisations work stations to Windows 7/Office 2010.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

- Migrate existing data and specific personalised configuration files such as Internet favourites and macro files
- The upgrade of existing operating system (from Windows XP to Windows 7)
- Upgrade from Office 2007 to 2010 on existing compliant hardware(as above)
- Reconfiguring printers and MFD's
- Assisting users connected to Active Directory for the first time
- Previous experience from projects requiring the large-scale deployment of new equipment and software
- Working with an SOE desktop platform
- Testing and configuration of hardware and software
- Networking essentials including an understanding of Router and switch connectivity testing.
- Understanding IP Addressing and connectivity testing

Installers will be often working in remote locations & will need to be able to work independently & use initiative.
