Inspector - Bristol - Contract

Roc Search's client based in Bristol is seeking a number of inspectors to join an existing team. You will operate as a multi-skilled, flexible worker to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency of the inspection department in supporting the business and continuous improvement. Verification of parts machined and re work operations within the components business

Responsibilities

*Maintains and ensures timely delivery of parts to agreed customer delivery dates
*Uses lean tools and techniques to support elimination of waste and improvements to business performance
*Adheres to the requirements of the Health & Safety Processes and Procedures
*Adheres to the requirements of the Quality Management Procedures
*Carry out inspections using conventional hand checking methods
*Carry out inspections using co-ordinate measuring machines
*Support inter-operation subcontract acceptance
*Must comply with company procedures surrounding the job. Procedures, Work instructions, Guides, Standard operations instructions all accessed through the QMS
*Provide advice and information to shop floor personnel and their managers
*Work to enhance quality by continual improvement
*Production of Inspection reports from conventional hand checking
*Production of Key Acceptance Dimension charts for use by production
*Raising of complex concessions or those arising from CMM inspection
*Programming CMM using PCDMIS

Skills
*A wide knowledge and experience of metrology, techniques and measuring equipment
*Ability to use Co-ordinate Measuring machines, proficient in the use of various software including PCDMIS
*Ability to use Microsoft window packages - Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
*Use of SAP
*Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques
*To provide expertise in Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
*Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering CAD, drawings and processes
