QUALITY INSPECTOR

TASK DESCRIPTION

The Inspector is responsible to interact between vendors, InEx-Coordinator and COMPANY representative concerning expediting and inspection activities. The Inspector shall ensure and adhere to the expediting and inspection process within the project. In this, the Inspector works closely together with the InEx-Coordinator. Inspector has to ensure that delivery is on time and equipment/material are delivered in required quality. All measures for field expediting and inspection are reasonable in time and costs.

The Inspector reports to the Equipment responsible Engineer Valves and Instrumentation, QA/QC manager and the InEx-Coordinator.

The Inspector is responsible for:
*In-process monitoring and quality-check of valves
(bodys, bonnets, trim, transition pieces, bolding, actuators)
*Analyse VENDOR's processes and relations to other suppliers and manage supply chain
*Analyse progress reports and manpower planning of VENDORs
*Carry out intermediate and final inspections acc. to ITP
*Review of test procedures
*Witness of testing
*Review and acceptance of test reports and testing documentation
*Witness VENDOR at welding, NDT and painting activities
*Coordinate inspections with COMPANY, provide relevant inspection documents/procedures and inspection records
*Issue progress and inspection reports and NCR
*Define corrective actions and mitigation measures in case of quality concerns or delays
*Communicate with CONTRACTOR to resolve corrective actions
*Verify implementation of corrective actions
*Analyse root cause of defects and proactively ensure defect prevention
*Report expediting status to InEx-Coordinator for all deliveries
*Maintain the carry-over-work list if required

COMPETENCE PROFILE

Education/Experience:
*Degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding (eg specialist or engineer) Casting, Instrumentation and Control) or equivalent experience in manufacturing
*required 10 years' experience in engineering and quality control management with some years in industrial shop fabrication
*Preferred certified Inspector for valves of large nominal sizes or auditor with certification
*Domestic and international experience in related markets and projects

REQUIRED SKILLS:
*Working knowledge of API6D, DIN EN, ASME and other design codes and standards for valves
*A generalized knowledge of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company and its functions
*Must be able to read and interpret certified material certificates
*Must understand production sequences of the VENDOR (procurement status, planned production cycles, progress evaluation, testing, packing, preparation of shipment, etc.)
*Must understand identification and traceability of material
*Must be able to evaluate completeness of deliveries
*Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution
*Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes)

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
*Good communication skills both written and verbal in Italian
