Infrastructure/Vmware Systems Engineer - Vmware, Vsphere, Windows 2008

Infrastructure/VMWare Systems Engineer - VMware, VSphere, Windows 2008/2012 is required by my client who is based in London.

Essential Expertise:

- VMWare VCP (vSphere3/4/5)
- Windows 2003/2008 MCP/MCITP

Desirable Expertise:

- Red Hat RHCT or equivalent
- Networking Certifications
- Storage Certifications (Cisco, SNIA)
- Working knowledge of managing and monitoring HP Proliant, Cisco UCS, IBM X, Dell Servers.
- Knowledge of Backup/Recovery Process & Tools
- ITIL

Responsibilities:

This is a 3rd level support role with responsibility for supporting High Availability environments on behalf of my clients Managed Service customers. Activities covered by the role include input into Design, Implementation, Configuration (of both Physical and Virtual solutions) plus level three support escalation for Operating System tickets.

Responsibility for Hypervisor management, maintenance and new VDC (Virtual Data Center) creation for all of my clients Cloud platforms including Enterprise Cloud, Private Cloud and Secure Cloud platforms. Development of services and automation to increase efficiency and improve the customer experience.

The Systems Engineer's work closely with my clients Solutions Architects, Pre-Sales, Professional Services Group, Project Management and Product Teams to ensure design and delivery of highly available solutions.

Engineers are required to monitor and evolve all standards, policies and procedures utilised within the Management of Production environments.
