Infrastructure Technical Lead (Unix)

My client is seeking a Infrastructure Technical Lead (Unix) for a 6 month contract based in the Sydney CBD.

EXPERIENCE:

- Five + years relevant IT industry experience
- Three + years experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment
- Advanced knowledge in one or more relevant infrastructure domains
- Advancing analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills
- A good understanding of core financial services applications and products desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION:

- Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Relevant technical certifications, such as CCIE, MCSE etc. desirable

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:

- Expert knowledge of RHEL 5.x/6.x administration.
- Expert knowledge of HP Blade centres/Servers, HP Virtual Connect, HP DL Servers, IBM x Servers.
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP Networking & security concepts and implementation.
- Expert knowledge of LDAP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Good knowledge of RHN administration.
- Good knowledge of VMWare, AIX and Solaris.
- Good knowledge of SAN - FC, iSCSI, NFS protocols and NetApp/EMC hardware.
- Good knowledge of IBM TSM and Symantec Netbackup.
- Good knowledge in monitoring packages such as Nagios, and Zabbix.
- ITIL process awareness - Incident/Change/Problem management.
- Excellent presentation, documentation & verbal skills essential.

Ability to work after hours in an on-call support capacity, as part of a scheduled team roster.
