Infrastructure Systems Engineer - Cloud / Dev Ops

This Leading International Publisher based in Central London is looking for a highly experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, deployment and management of its Global Infrastructure Systems focussing on its new Technologies Group.

There are no pre-existing legacy systems to trouble you here as the infrastructure and application stacks are as Greenfield as they come. Committed to working with the latest tech whenever and wherever possible this function aims to push the entire International Business forward.

Working as part of a tight-knit team you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in defining the organisation's DevOps Community and Infrastructure Architecture Best Practices from the ground up. Working closely in conjunction with all members of the Development, Architecture, Testing and Project Management teams throughout the group this will demand an excellent command of business processes. This will allow you to contribute at all levels and have key involvement in defining the overall strategy of the group.

With a focus on Cloud Services, projects will include designing and building multiple application, storage and database services across their Global Cloud Infrastructure with an emphasis on high availability, scalability, security and continuity.

A successful candidate must have a proven track record of building and supporting large scale infrastructure based on Java and Open-Source (LAMP) stacks and working as a Systems Engineer for in excess of 5 years to take on the challenge of such a demanding role from the word go.
This is a highly technically demanding role that will require in-depth experience of as much of the following as possible:

Large-scale Systems Administration preferably using Cloud Technologies
Continuous Delivery (e.g. Hudson/Jenkins, Selenium, Jira, Chef, Git, Maven)
Systems Engineering (e.g. Linux, JBoss, TomCat, Apache, PHP, DNS & MemCache)
Monitoring (e.g. Nagios, Openview, Zabbix, RRD, Keynote & Gomez)
Storage Engineering: Network storage (NAS, SAN & Virtualized Storage)
Database Admin: (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, Hadoop Network security; Network topology; System Hardening, Pen Testing, Software Firewalls
Protocols: HTTP, SSL/TLS, RTP Peer-to-Peer Networking, Edge Computing
