Infrastructure Systems Administrator

The SYSTEMS ADMIN must provide advanced support/assistance to various IT infrastructure related issues and changes as and when requested.

S/He must assist in configuring and supporting various business critical infrastructure system equipment in a multi-tiered environments. The Admin will work with the cross system application and integration teams on tactical and strategic issues in addition to handling day-to-day system infrastructure. S/He must excel in day-to-day operations including issue resolution, resource utilization and task schedule management. The candidate will provide support to the Network/Windows team to best meet the issue resolution; Supporting backup, recovery, performance and tuning, problem determination and resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Must have hands-on infrastructure experience and desire to support multiple complex operations and perform problem-resolution and prioritization.
- Ability to triage and methodically troubleshoot issues pertaining to systems outages and implementation of technologies.
- Must be able to maintain strong levels of day-to-day technical customer support in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work operational issues and tickets within time frames and meet deadlines for appropriate resolution.
- Ability to use more advanced tools and capabilities to ensure system availability to end users, while providing root cause analysis and mitigation of infrastructure faults and system outages.
- Capable of troubleshooting with elevated administrative access on all levels, attempting to do so with no user or system impact.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and build and maintain effective business relationships.
- Assist in IT operations upgrades.
- Provide after-hours support/on-call duties.
- Follow standards and guidelines set forth by business and design leads for various technologies.
- Provide best practice in updating tickets and documentation for quicker problem resolution.
- Implement, manage, monitor, and support IT infrastructure and enterprise systems including but not limited to Routers, Switches, Servers and applications that support business critical applications.
- Support electronic mail, communications Servers, Active Directory, antivirus, anti-spam and other security systems.
- Provide high level of detail in request or ticket with technical bug notations and or vendor recommendations.
- Support virtualized environments.
- Serve as liaison between vendors, users and other IT Staff.
- Provide optimization recommendations.
- Provide support and technical expertise in network technology, server application implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure maximum uptime for production systems.
- Install, configure, and support server operating systems and applications.
- Assist in implementing standard design and controls.
- Participate in new technology evaluations.
- Identify and make recommendations for areas of continuous improvement.
- Create technical documentation for new and existing systems including maintenance procedures and server infrastructure.
- Adhere to IT and organization policies, standards, processes and procedures while making recommendations for improving.
- Mentor and serve as an escalation point for other IT Staff.
- Participate in hardware evaluations, standards recommendations, and process improvements.
- Provide after hour and on-call support as assigned.
- Lead projects or participates on project teams as assigned.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 7+ years of experience with infrastructure technologies (Routers, Switches, wireless access points, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft operating systems
- 3+ years of experience with Cisco systems
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A+, Network +, Microsoft-related certifications; CISCO related certifications preferred

This contract position is expected to be 11-12 months in duration.
