Infrastructure Systems Administrator

Our client is one of the world's leading financial services seeking an INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to provide successful infrastructure deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and design to support applications in Test and Production environments. Ensuring the infrastructure services and underlying applications meet the corporate quality, security, availability, and compliance standards, and providing the documentation for the ongoing support and maintenance of the systems.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide 24X7 Infrastructure Support across multiple data centers.
- Apply patch and firmware fixes and other proactive maintenance activities to keep the services up and running.
- Evaluate issues reported by customers and members and providing ongoing solutions.
- Manage capacity needs, performance, and tuning for multiple infrastructure deployments.
- Manage service and ticket SLAs and managing the workflow to achieve the SLAs.
- Take ownership of specific production problems and provide active coordination between various groups including internal and external vendor support groups in resolving those problems.
- Provide appropriate feedback to management about the progress and timeline related to specific production problems.
- Determine configuration and operational requirements for development team.
- Design test criterions and test plan.
- Participate in the decision making of success or failure of Servers, storage, and network devices to be deployed in production.
- Assess risk associated for control and policy exceptions.
- Execute decisive action to preserve and maintain service availability, performance, integrity, capacity and security.
- Participate and determine root cause for infrastructure and service failure and support escalation.
- Implement new processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (particularly RHEL) consisting of at least 5 years of maintenance and deployment activities
- At least 5 years supporting infrastructure that runs significant Web Architecture consisting of Apache, Tomcat, TCServer and/or Siteminder and LDAP
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Linux and Network Loadbalancers
- Should have working experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, OPNET, SPLUNK, or any other monitoring tools/processes.
- Experience in working with MySQL DBs preferred
- Experience working in owned data centers, hosted environments, and fully managed environments preferred
- At least 5 years' experience in Production support working in a globally distributed team
- Experience with ITIL, BMC Remedy and ticketing workflows preferred
- Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Computer Science or related stream
- Prior working experience with financial services a plus
