Job description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Review and Implement network monitoring of the internal network, Involving use of commercial network management applications as well as customized Scripting.
* Document network management landscapes, processes, etc.
* Perform daily network management operations,: such as house-keeping, addition of new devices/elements, update configurations, etc.
* Configure and administrate UNIX and Windows systems used for network monitoring.
* Maintain, update and modify in-house developed system, Especially to cater to new requests.
Pre- requisites
* Minimum 7 years relevant working experience in Network and UNIX administration in a MNC (Monitoring and Control) environment.
* Flexible, self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast paced and multi -cultural organization.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of the English language .
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Good team player.
Required Skill Sets
* Strong UNIX background .
* Strong programming skills in any of the Following languages/scripts: C, Perl, Shell Scripts .
* Strong understanding and experience with network management platforms .
* Good understanding of WAN/LAN technologies (including MPLS, ATM, etc ), concepts (including QoS, ACLs, etc ) and protocols (including BGP, OSPF, etc ) .
* Experience operating Cisco Routers and Catalyst Switches in a high availability environment would be Advantageous .
* Experience in Windows background would be Advantageous
