Infrastructure Specialist (Windows/Linux/Dev) is required by Profs4U for a Dutch client,
Contract period of 3 months +, Worklocation Amsterdam area,
Starting ASAP. 40 hours per week,
Excellent hour/day rate,

The infrastructure specialist provides support to the IT-servicedesk when solving more difficult issues. In order to keep current infrastructure functionality up-to-date, upgrade paths are designed and implemented. The infrastructure specialist is also responsible for realization of new functionality in the areas of office automation, web application infrastructure and software development tooling.

Whenever external parties are involved in design and implementation, these are managed by the infrastructure specialist together with the Manager Corporate IT. New web application functionality will increasingly be based on externally provided components which need to be integrated. For this the infrastructure specialist teams with the connectivity and software experts at the client.

Result areas and main tasks

- Ensure availability of IT infrastructure at the Client, including networks and phone systems
- Ensure timely upgrades of IT infrastructure to stay up to date with developments and security patches
- Advise on server hardware solutions and user devices
- Provide hardware and software solutions in the area of office automation
- Provide support to the IT servicedesk for the more difficult issues
- Develop and maintain the infrastructure for the Clients applications, in cooperation with the software development teams
- Work together with the connectivity experts to maintain and develop integrated solutions for the Clients products
- Together with the Manager Corporate IT, manage external parties that provide infrastructure services to the Client
- Manage the international VPN network, based on clustered Firewalls
- Manage the datacenter network
- Troubleshoot problems, including issues regarding interoperability using standard protocols

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE

- Basic experience with Windows and network administration
- Advanced experience with Linux server administration
- Advanced experience with common open source packages like Apache Web Server
- Familiar with server hardware and RAID configurations
- Experience with a third-generation programming language like Java, PHP, C/C++/C#, Visual Basic
- Familiar with software development tooling, like code repository, build server, automated testing
- Experience with Linux Shell Scripting

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

English language, spoken and written
