Project Manager Infrastructure
On behalf of our client, a leading player in finance and banking, we are looking for a Project Manager with a clear focus on Infrastructure projects. For this contracting job based in Basel, our client is looking for a German speaking candidate who can start ASAP for a contract with high possibility for extension.
The Program/Project Managers are responsible for delivering the objectives of a number of inter-linked global and cross functional projects building together an entire strategic program. This includes responsibility for the timely implementation of defined objectives in line with quality standards and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of a program/project, which includes project planning, execution, timing, quality, cost and early identification of potential issues
- Manage a team of experienced Project Managers, either directly or as part of a Matrix organization, ensuring efficient use of resources
- Identify and manage senior stakeholders and clients, evaluate their interests and establish effective communication channels ensuring effective stakeholder management and engagement
Key Deliverables:
1 Good technical Understanding about Infrastructure Technology Topics (Projects heavily Infrastructure)
- Distributed Systems(and virtualization)/Knowledge of MidRange & Mainframe a plus
- Understanding of Network Topology & Storage (SAN & NAS) preferred - Medium depth
2 Ability to operate independently and make decisions where to focus attention and resolve issues without constant Management involvement
3 Ability to decide and determine problems that need to be brought to management attention to resolve
4 Experience with Direct Financial Budget responsibilities
- Bonus for direct resource P&L Responsibilities in the past
5 Good German & English language skills
6 Direct PM Training (ideally certified) PMI and/or PRINCE2
7 Responsible to synthesize/define project scopes/define deliverables and plan project expectations
8 Experience and ability to interact with all employee levels (Able to discuss and negotiate with Senior managers/Stakeholders)
