Infrastructure Expert

We are urgently recruiting for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our client located in various locations in Belgium, including Hasselt, Liège, Antwerp and Brussels. This is a five (5) months contract, due to commence on the 1st of February 2016!

COMPETENCES
- Strong technical skills with deep knowledge of infrastructure management methods and tools
- Experience in allocated infrastructure portfolio
- Excellent knowledge on ITIL
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work under pressure and in a stressful environment
- High flexibility and ability to cope with non-standard working hours when required to solve critical operational issues
- The ideal candidate has a university degree in exact sciences (preferably economy or IT) or has gained equivalent knowledge by relevant work experience
- The ideal candidate has 5 years of work experience in IT

The ideal candidate is business proficient in Dutch, French and English

MISSION
- The Infrastructure Expert is in charge of the daily operational management of the IT Infrastructure.
- The Infrastructure Expert will also be responsible for executing smaller projects (

LIST OF ACTIVITIES
- Responsible for keeping the IT infrastructure up and running, as per the service level agreements
- Responsible to ensure that the standards and governance principles of the infrastructure are followed
- Participate in the Change Management process
- Ensure that support documentation is kept up to date
- Manage support tickets (second and third line)
- Propose improvements
- Validate the infrastructure deliverables is the projects, as per the standards
- Reporting, communication and ensuring follow up of quality issues
- Supporting security standards for both infrastructure and information
- Responsible for version management (accountable in case outsourced to third parties)
- Responsible for server management
- Responsible for storage and backup management
- Actively support TCO reduction initiatives by improving efficiency on license management, ticketing, capacity management, performance, etc.
