Infrastructure Engineer (Unix AIX,/Linux, Virtualization/Vmware)

INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (UNIX AIX/Linux, VIRTUALIZATION/VMWARE)

The contract is with a large consultancy to be on assignment at a large European site in Den Haag. The client is urgently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer as follows:

Tasks:
deal with an existing infrastructure (development and testing environment, BCP/DRP environment) working with technologies like VMWARE/Windows, Redhat, Linux and AIX
take part in the move of this infrastructure in the datacentre with consolidation and mutualisation of the hardware
ensure the day to day of this infrastructure in run-off mode
consolidate a target solution of the new tool under Solaris 11 and Oracle 12
make the installation/configuration/local administration with expertise

Profile:

- Being involved in this international project, willingness to travel is required as opportunities may arise for travelling in Europe.
- Degree in Computer Science. Master degree is a plus.
- Self-starter and a customer oriented problem-solver.
- Flexible, pro-active, structured and quality oriented.
- Team spirit is a strong requirement as well as clear and concise communication.
- Minimum 5 years experience in the IT Sector
- Minimum 3 years experience in infrastructure Engineering
- Good level of written and spoken English. Knowledgeof French or German is a plus.

Knowledge/experience:

- Multiple skills centered on Unix/linux platforms
- Good experience in Unix AIX (all versions), with "LPAR" partitionning/virtualization), Unix Solaris 11 (with "Zoning" partitionning/virtualization), Linux RedHat
- Basic knowledge of EMC storage (VNX) and ESX Servers/VMWare virtualization
- Experience working with Oracle: SQL
- Experience in deployment and management of virtual environments as VMWare, Citrix, Terminal Services.
- Supporting Microsoft Windows, MS SQL Server, Sharepoint, Microsoft Exchange, ISA-Servers, backup solutions. An MCSE certification is an asset.
- Experience with management software such as SCCM, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WINS.
