Infrastructure Engineer - Linux (Redhat)

My high-profile Financial Services client seeks an Infrastructure Delivery Engineer to be responsible for providing high quality support to clients and internal business functions in a fast paced business critical 24x7 environment. This will include building and securing production infrastructure to support in-house and third party software while providing second/third line support for those systems. You will demonstrate good technical knowledge in a range of disciplines. You will have good hands on technical experience and the aptitude to learn new applications and technologies.

As the ideal candidate you will be tasked with delivering against the following criteria:

- Technical resource for internal and external projects
- Produce low level design and production support documentation
- Maintain system stability and high availability
- Provide 2nd-3rd line application support on complex internally and externally developed applications
- Interact with internal teams and external 3rd party vendors to trouble shoot and resolve complex problems
- Application administration, monitoring, performance tuning
- Deploy application releases and configuration changes
- Develop implementation, backup and roll-back plans
- Adhere to appropriate departmental and company procedures and policies (ie change control, security and auditing, release, configuration, problem and incident management)
- Configuration management
- Incident management

As the ideal candidate you will have the following skills, knowledge and background:

- Ideally have experience in the Financial sector, preferably wealth management
- Must have extensive experience in supporting applications on Unix, preferably Redhat Linux
- Must have vast experience delivering as a Support Engineer in a 24x7 fast pace environment
- Experience in designing and implementing resilient eCommerce infrastructure
- Good knowledge of web load balancing technologies, preferably F5s
- Experience supporting MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012
- Good conceptual understanding of networking, Firewalls and DNS
- Good understanding of web and E-commerce technologies
- Experience working with 3rd party software vendors
