Infrastructure Engineer

THE INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Maintenance of Windows, distributed systems, and network infrastructure and published applications
- The stability and momentum of network infrastructure responsibilities and ensuring great support of and communications with Level 2
- Implementation of tasks supporting disaster recovery strategies
- Break-fix support

SYSTEMS INFRASTRUCTURE ACTIVITIES:

- Administrator Windows and distributed systems environment
- Subject matter expert for installations; configurations, and maintenance of Windows and distributed systems-based resources on physical hardware and in virtual environments to ensure proper performance and up-time
- Resolve tickets related published applications, desktops, and other Windows/distributed systems related matters assigned to the team through the Help Desk Ticketing System
- Interact with vendors on support agreements (scope development), ticket management and issue escalations
- Participate in projects requiring Windows/distributed systems resources
- Perform analysis of utilization and performance of Windows/distributed systems resources
- Configure Windows Server File systems share and NTFS permissions
- Setup and update Servers and devices, disk arrays, and clusters
- Monitor server and network performance using various administrative management tools
- Install and document server software and hardware configurations
- Perform server software and hardware upgrades and repairs

SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree in MIS or similar technical program or acceptable industry and work experience
- 5+ years of IT industry experience
- Experienced in managing enterprise infrastructure, including VMware, Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL, Citrix, and Group Policy
- Experience with support and use of remote monitoring systems
- Knowledge of user rights management and Firewall configuration
- Expert knowledge of VMware ESX i4.0 or later, Exchange 2010, Active Directory 2010, Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 R2, Citrix, and Group policy management (technical and operational)
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008
- Experience with SharePoint administration
- Experience with LAN/WAN infrastructure (hubs, Switches, Routers)
- Firewall configuration experience
- Understanding of change management and best practice procedures
- Experience with business continuity planning and execution
- MCSE certification or equivalent experience
