We are looking to hire an experienced Infrastructure Consultant with a broad understanding of technology (enterprise infrastructure, databases, storage etc.) and who is well organized and has a good grasp of project management disciplines.
This role will give you the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of infrastructure, applications, databases and project management. It requires someone who is a driven, go getter who can work on their own initiative and has a strong working knowledge and background in most or all of the areas listed above, specialising in the database and/or infrastructure areas preferred.
In summary, the role requires someone who can:
- Feed into and drive aspects of the project management life cycle including planning, design, implementation, transition into support, etc.
- Support the project team by troubleshooting technical issues across multiple applications, databases, operating systems and integration solutions
- Work across all infrastructure foundations to comprehend and recommend improvements and enhancements to existing and future implementations
- To provide IT solution/architecture design, subject matter expertise, project & technical leadership within the various customer teams
A good understanding of the following is required:
- Enterprise Infrastructure solutions
- SAN storage systems
- Windows operating systems
- Citrix & VMware
- Microsoft Exchange
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Excellent troubleshooting ability both within their area of expertise and also outside of their technical comfort zone ie ability to research for potential solutions outside of their area of technical expertise
- Strong Infrastructure experience (VMware, Windows, Linux)
- Ability to map business requirements into technical solutions
- Ability to feed into and drive aspects of the project management life cycle
- Ability to diagnose issues across a number of platforms and technologies and get the information to the appropriate resolver teams
- Ability to work with and manage 3rd party vendors as appropriate
