Infrastructure Consultant

At IT Alliance we have a 6 month contract based in Cork or an Infrastructure Consultant/Eirvironment Manager with strong DBA background.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The role requires someone who has a broad understanding of technology (enterprise infrastructure, databases, storage, etc.) and who is well organized and self-motivated and a self starter.

The role is broad, touching off all aspects of infrastructure, applications, databases and project management. It requires someone who is a driven, go getter who can work on their own initiative and has a strong working knowledge and background in most or all of the areas listed above, specialising in the database and/or infrastructure areas preferred.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- Excellent troubleshooting ability both within their area of expertise and also outside of their technical comfort zone ie ability to ascertain potential solutions outside of their area of technical expertise
- Strong infrastructure and database experience (SQL Server and/or Oracle)
- Ability to diagnose issues across a number of platforms and technologies
- Ability to document environment landscapes into physical and logical diagrams
- Ability to work with and manage 3rd party vendors as appropriate

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Broad IT skill set
- Good understanding of the following is required:
- Enterprise Infrastructure solutions
- Oracle and/or SQL Server Databases
- Performance tuning
- Disk storage systems
- Windows and Unix operating systems
- SQL Server suite (inc Analysis Services & Reporting Services)
- WMQ & Java JRE
- Citrix & vSphere
