Infrastructure Architect (Systems Engineer)

Our client, a well-known Fortune 500 company in the North West Washington, DC area, is looking for an Infrastructure Architect to undertake new strategic projects. This strong Systems Engineer will have experience working in large-scale IT environments, with solid Linux experience (ideally with Java skills).

Responsibilities will include:

- Providing front line response, including 24 hour on-call response, for production outages and slowdowns.
- Providing front line response for non-production outages and slowdown during normal business hours.
- Performing capacity analysis for all environments and implement infrastructure changes or upgrades to ensure adequate capacity is maintained.
- Maintaining inventory and status of all client Service Servers in all environments.
- Developing, maintaining, and executing automated healthcheck scripts for all environments.
- Effectively interacting with supporting teams such as Network, Server, Middleware, Splunk, and DBA teams, to maintain reliable service levels in all environments.
- Creating and maintaining infrastructure topology diagrams.
- Assisting with resolution of application build and deploy issues

Required:

- Minimum 5 years experience
- Strong Linux Skills
- Experienced with Apache
- Excellent analytic/problem solving skills
- Adept at coordinating with several teams to research and resolve issues.
- Ability to quickly come up to speed quickly on the existing applications infrastructure.
- Java Skills
