INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT (MIDDLEWARE) - Oslo, Norway

6 month contract

JOB OVERVIEW:

Performs the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks related to the development of an Infrastructure Architecture (Domain Architect).

SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES:

- Analyze the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Analyze technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the Middleware environment.
- Provide Architecture governance during the implementation
- Define the principles that guide technology decisions for the Middleware environment
- Oversee or consult on technical architecture (for example, systems) implementation and modification activities (for example, projects), particularly for new and/or shared infrastructure solutions.
- Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations.
- Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.

KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Good understanding of overall IT infrastructure technologies
- Ability to design and guide solution the below areas
- Expertise in designing Middleware - IBM WAS, Iplanet, Messaging Queue
- Knowledge of build and deploy technologies
- Understanding of core banking high level understanding is an added advantage
- Understanding of x86 and Unix technologies
- Understanding of storage and data backup solution
- Basic understanding of networking (Converged Network, LAN, WAN)
- Basic understanding of IT security
- Knowledge of Data Center Concepts, Industry trends, Tools and Best practices

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Certification such as TOGAF is a value add
