Infrastructure Architect

Designing, reviewing, implementing and documenting complex infrastructure architectures that meet the evolving requirements of the organisation. Particular emphasis on Data Centre relocation and infrastructure services transformation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead, review and assess Infrastructure (Datacentre) Components designs in preparation for a major datacentre move
- Identify process and technology improvement opportunities within the infrastructure domain to enhance existing services, including opportunistic transformation of infrastructure services prior, during and after the move
- Lead Infrastructure projects from a technical perspective working with project managers, vendors and internal staff to design and deliver the required outcomes
- Define, design, review and document the domain architecture within guidelines set by the organisation
- Develop technical reports outlining decision points, options and recommendations for the infrastructure domain

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- 10+ years of experience in IT concentrating in infrastructure technologies coupled with tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science, Technology or a related discipline.
- Certification or proven experience with ITIL, PMI, TOGAF (or similar architecture framework)
- Experience in transformation programs a plus
- Proven experience in the infrastructure domain, including the use of architectural methods and trade off analysis
- Experience designing an integrated infrastructure platform.
- Experience with identity management solutions and working knowledge of security architecture
- Experience with dynamic multiplatform, large, complex and integrated systems
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Platforms (eg Server, Exchange, MS SQL), Linux, etc.
- Knowledge of Symantec Backup, Management and Compliance Suite a plus
- Knowledge of Flexpod, NetApp capabilities and storage overall design.
- Knowledge of storage networks, virtualisation, public and private cloud infrastructure
- Knowledge of life cycle management of technology assets
