INFORMATION SERVICES CONSULTANT WAUWATOSA, WA CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

This role is engaged to manage and automate infrastructure solutions that take advantage of Storage technologies. These skilled resources are also engaged to install and configure Storage infrastructure management tools.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end troubleshooting, configuration, monitoring, build, refresh, and overall management of the Storage Environment, including:

- 24x7 Team Availability
- Work with vendors to obtain support for storage
- Troubleshoot and manage storage devices
- Dispatch, handoff, and escalation of tickets between Backup Infrastructure teams and external teams
- Teams will also support L3 support resources in the processing and resolution of Problem Management tickets.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery reviews and process development
- Collection and reporting of monthly metrics
- Patching and management of Filer OS and disk firmware
- Incident management (including outages)
- Change management (Including Change Advisory Board meetings)
- Maximize storage infrastructure utilization across globe
- Maintain process for build teams and system administration
- Assist in developing and performing customer reporting, internal audits, and internal reporting procedures
- Assist in identifying key alerting and monitoring points for automation
- Capabilities and understanding of Data Protection Concepts and Architectures

TYPICAL DELIVERY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

- Storage and data management software implementation and configuration
- Hardware, Software and firmware Updates
- Management tools implementations, configuration and upgrades
- Storage management using customer Storage Management tools
- Configuration and modelling of Storage Efficiency
- Preventive maintenance working in conjunction with the support team, identifying risks, prioritizing and taking action to mitigate potential issues
- Hardware, Software and firmware Updates
- Coordination of service efforts at the customer site
- Ability to define and document change control processes and execute in a highly regulated environment
- Test planning and execution
- Participation in regularly scheduled reviews with Customer
- Updating of customer Storage operations documentation
- Storage availability, performance and utilization auditing and reporting

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- Windows: good knowledge of NT, Win2K, Win2K3
- Understand share and NTFS security concepts
- Unix: good knowledge of Berkeley, Linux, and/or System V Unix system administration concepts including disk and network administration, NFS and NIS/NIS+ administration
- Networking: knowledge of and NIS associated daemons
- Knowledge of network architectures including hubs, repeaters, bridges, Routers, and Switches
- Storage: knowledge of storage administration and the concepts of file systems, disk partitions, mounts, quotas, mirroring and sizing
- Expert knowledge of NAS, DAS, SAN (fabric attached architectures)
- Expert with storage sizing, performance and high availability
- Expert knowledge of Backup/Data Protection technologies
- Deep experience with the internals of Storage OS fundamentals
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential to impact senior and executive level technical teams, architects, systems administrators, and senior managers
- Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and senior managers in a team environment in which to share best practices, meet aggressive goals, and meet high quality standards
- A technical leader and expert with demonstrated success on highly complex projects
- Ability to define and drive practices in the technical team and across the organization
- Ability to act as technical expert when working with customers senior technical representatives, including influencing customers requirements
- Ability to understand the customers business requirements and relate their requirements to technical solutions
- Experience in infrastructure environment designed to meet Federal Regulatory requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum of 6 years of experience required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience required
- Storage Certification required
- MCP, MCSA and MCSE Certifications a plus
- Security Clearance (top secret or SCI) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects
- GXP, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley, NHS and other regulatory compliance experience
- Experience working in ASP or PACS data Centers
