JOB OVERVIEW:

Our client, a leading provider of cyber security solutions and enterprise analytics is currently looking for an Information Security System Engineer, preferably with Trustwave SIEM experience. This is a unique opportunity to evaluate, engineer and manage on the client agency's information security systems, cyber threats and security capabilities across their enterprise. The Security engineer will be responsible for performing engineering, administration, and network analysis in a multi-vendor, enterprise-class networked environment. The primary role of the engineer will be to conduct engineering oversight and management of an existing Trustwave SIEM including the integration of Cisco, Linux OS, Microsoft Active Directory, IDS, SIEM, DLP, deep packet inspection, and netflow data feeds. Candidate will require in-depth engineering skills and perform initial analysis on security system issues associated with tier 1, 2 and 3 troubleshooting and engineering related to the network devices and security applications. The ability to both engineer existing components and perform testing and deployment of new security tools is required. Candidate will also work with existing staff on instruction, guidance, and administrative functionality of security devices. Experience with evaluating, designing, and deploying security tools to fill identified security gaps to include, but not be limited to below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Interfacing with the customer during meetings, briefings, when providing security engineering assessments/analyses, remediation reports, and other related systems security engineering briefings.
- Comprehensive report writing surrounding security engineering based findings, results, and recommendations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Six (6+) years of experience with general network and system administration.
- Five (5+) years of experience in IT, security technologies, networking.
- Three (3+) years of Linux Operating System.
- Three (3+) years of experience in Network design and operations experience (Cisco Switches, Routers, and Firewalls).
- In-depth security engineering and administration experience in three (3) or more of the following network or security-related components:
- SIEM (Including integration of data and event feeds with SIEM).
- Cisco ASA switch, Router, and Firewall configurations.
- Perimeter and Endpoint security.
- VPN or Web Security Gateways.
- Perimeter IDS/IPS.
- Microsoft 2008 and Active Directory.
- Linux/UNIX operating systems.
- SSL content Proxy and data loss prevention tools.
- Packet capture and analysis tools.

EXPERIENCE IN TWO OR MORE OF THESE SECURITY TECHNOLOGIES INCLUDING:

- Trustwave SIEM Operations Edition (OE).
- Trustwave SIEM Enterprise View, Client View, and Analytics.
- Intrusion Detection Systems (SourceFire, Snort).
- Microsoft 2008 server and Active Directory.
- Log Analysis and Management tools.
- Netflow (SiLK).
- SSL content Proxy (Bluecoat, Websense).
- Deep packet inspection (NetWitness, Wireshark, TCPdump).
- Data loss prevention.
- MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN SECURITY CLEARANCE.
- Must have understanding of security principles and industry best practices.
- Must have a understanding of networking security, TCP/IP, routing, switching, Firewalls and protocols.
- Must be capable of working independently and as part of a dynamic team. Must be process oriented.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Intelligence, or other related Field or equivalent experience.
- Security Certifications (CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, SANS, CEH, QEH, OSCP, OSWE, OSWP) or Systems certifications (RHCE, MCSE).
- Experience with compliance standards and security best practices (NIST guidelines, CIS benchmarks.
- Five (5+) years of experience in networking or system administration technologies.
- Three to five (3 - 5) years working in Information Security.
- Understanding of database fundamentals.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing environments and show attention to detail. Must be process oriented.
- Be a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
