INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST FOSTER CITY, CA CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

Our client is one of the world s leading financial services seeking a candidate with demonstrated expertise in security requirements for all IT arenas such as operating systems, database systems, networking, SSDLC, and additional security architectures. Applicants with CISA, CRISC and/or CISSP certifications will be preferred.

The role will support the continuing development of the technical security requirements (TSRs)/security standards program. The technical security requirements are based on accepted industry standards, regulations and best practices. This individual will provide expert knowledge to other team members regarding technical security standards, will have the technical expertise to develop security requirements, and will provide appropriate justifications for variance from baseline standards. This candidate will also be highly motivated with the ability to drive continuous improvement throughout the existing program.

THIS IS NOT A HANDS-ON DEVELOPMENT POSITION. S/He will work with developers directly and review their code, running analysis tools to see vulnerabilities.

JOB SCOPE:

- Responsible for the development of technical security requirements documentation based on industry standards, regulations and best practices
- Update and revise existing technical security requirements documentation and oversight of the documentation life cycle
- Provide expert knowledge regarding information security requirements, industry standards, regulations and best practices
- Develop testing plans in conjunction with IT groups
- Actively collaborate with other teams throughout Information Security, throughout IT, and with stakeholders throughout the client org
- Responsible for process development and enhancement
- Provide support regarding audit activities across Information Security and IT functional areas
- Proactively promotes the enhancement of technology security requirements awareness across IT and business units
- Plan and monitor tasks and schedules

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years Information Security experience
- Prefer CISA, CRISC and/or CISSP certifications
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of Information Security and Compliance
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of Information Security regulations, industry requirements and generally accepted best practices such as FFIEC, GLBA, PCI DSS, ISO, NIST and CIS Benchmarks
- Must be able to understand security requirements in relation to operating systems, database systems and networking
- Strong network security background preferred
- Sound planning, organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong analytical reasoning skills with the ability recognize and evaluate facts, objectively analyze situations, synthesize and organize data/information from multiple sources, detail oriented with strong judgment
- Interpersonal, collaboration and facilitation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and presentation skills, and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments in an environment that requires multitasking among concurrent activities and frequent shifting of priorities
- Ability to convey security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
