Information Management Officer - Information Governance required for our client based Leeds, Yorkshire with Travel.

This is a highly specialist role within the Information Governance Directorate and accountable for the interface with Data Services for Commissioners (DSfC); acting as a subject matter expert in areas of information governance to ensure the Data Services for Commissioners comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the supply of evidence from the DSfC Regional Offices for the submission of the Information Governance Toolkit (IGT) through the provision of audit, advice and guidance and where appropriate reporting progress to the senior managers and Executive Directors.

The post holder will need to be a highly motivated individual and able to demonstrate exceptional leadership and problem solving skills.

The post holder will need to ensure they fully understand and can communicate national legislation, DH guidance, NHS policies and procedures and best practice in relation to all aspects of information governance.

The post holder will need to be IT literate as they will need to be one of the SME for the layout and content, as well as maintaining, the DSfC web sites.

They will need good communication skills to produce web content for all readers with different understanding of the DSfC project/programme.

The post holder will be required to act as an expert to provide advice and guidance on the flows of data to/from DSfCs, their customers, as well as providers.

Essential Experience as successful candidate will have to complete the tasks below:

Required to expertly analyse, interpret and make timely decisions on a range of facts and situations with regard to complex guidance, mandatory and legal requirements and best practice relating to information governance. The post holder will be expected to assess the impact, make recommendations and resolve conflicts and problems on the programme

Development and implementation of an information governance compliance strategy for business areas within the Regional Offices (DSCROs), including an assessment of the degree of information governance expertise required by each area, developing the changes required and additions to these to meet the needs of the business.

Take responsibility for managing enquiries from applicants about data access and data sharing in relation to the DSCROs as well as more complex issues to ensure requests are responded to within agreed timescales.

To provide the highest level of leadership, management, specialist advice and technical expertise in relation to IG across the client and the commissioning community.
