Information Architect

Randstad Professionals is looking for an Information Architect for their client in Basel

Basic responsibility

The Architect will analyze and design information architecture. Develop model definitions using semantic technologies and develop RDF information data describing the application.

Main Tasks

- Work with Business and Informatics to understand the As-is and To-be information flows. Analysis is driven by Business Processes requirements  and Systems Landscapes on Information Entity level. Work with Solution and Integration Architects across the Functions on solutions that implement the envisioned data flow.
- Hands-on approach to developing model definitions using semantic technologies.
- Development of RDF information data describing the application to be built based on models.
- Ensure models, data and transformation processes are aligned with model driven architecture.
- Have oversight or lead roles in projects to ensure data standardization and  to drive complex data activities such as data migration.
- Manage, develop and maintain technical strategies and architectures to meet complex, enterprise-level business application requirements. Provide for design, review and coordination of integrated solutions across all business segments.

- Working closely with project team members, as well as other cross-functional business units, to oversee the solution, deliverables, and enhancements or modifications to the System.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in Information Architecture and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a solution, and able to handle multiple priorities.

Additional preferred qualifications are:

- Good working knowledge of semantic technologies
- Modeling skills within RDF, incl. schema design
- Understanding of model driven architecture and how this can benefit development processes and ongoing operation of systems
- Experience with information solution projects for pharmaceutical industry & product development organizations (Clinical Science & Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance/Drug Safety departments, etc)
- Ability to use adequate abstraction of the information entities from high level data flow to low level solution centric data attributes.
- Experience with Information Architecture concepts (eg  CRUD, Master Data, Business Warehouse, Canonicals)
- Experience software development methodologies as well as business analysis and business value concepts
- Strong analytical skills, ability to learn new processes and new concepts, to link business processes with information entities and to understand the technical constraints with technical capabilities, to define system requirements
- Strong customer orientation and communication skills
- Pro-active and dedicated to project success
- Proven track record of defining requirement specifications that have led to successful system and/or informatics tool delivery
- Experience and comfortable working in a global project environment
